Excavator Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate large-scale equipment including 250-tonne+ excavators and dozers.
• Carry out pre-start checks and basic machine upkeep.
• Keep production on track during your shift.
• Stick to all safety rules and procedures.
• Communicate clearly with team leaders and other crew members.
• Help maintain a tidy and functional work area.

Requirements and Qualifications

Experience

• Prior experience operating excavators at 250 tonnes or above
• Recent dozer operating experience
• Background in coal mining preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with electric trucks is a plus

Skills

• Good communicator and team player
• Focused on safety and doing things by the book
• Able to stay alert and productive across long shifts

Certifications and Checks

• Must have a current driver’s license
• Able to pass standard mine site checks and onboarding
• Holding relevant RII competencies will be an advantage

Education

No formal qualifications required if you’ve got strong on-site experience

Applicant Location

This role is based in Moura, Queensland. Applicants from nearby areas like Rockhampton or Gladstone are encouraged. Camp accommodation available for DIDO workers. You must have full working rights in Australia.
