Truck Driver (MR/HR)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe operation of medium-rigid (MR) and heavy-rigid (HR) vehicles while performing daily transport tasks.
  • Navigate and finish daily delivery and pickup routes with skill, ensuring that everything goes according to plan.
  • Make sure every consumer you encounter receives excellent service by interacting with them in a kind and professional manner.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of items with care; this portion of the work does include handling packages weighing between five and twenty kilos.
  • Learn how to use mobile applications, such as for navigation, delivery tracking, and obtaining required signatures.
  • Make sure the truck is always in top shape for the next trip by keeping it clean and organized.
  • Always follow all applicable transport laws, CHILL’s internal procedures, and Australian road safety requirements to the letter.
  • Collaborate efficiently and closely with the operations team to ensure that all logistical procedures run smoothly.
  • Be open to a flexible work schedule, primarily Monday through Friday, but be prepared to work weekends if necessary.
  • When traveling and visiting client sites, portray CHILL in a favorable light.
  • Address any small delivery or vehicle problems that may arise while you are on your routes.
  • Participate fully in any continuing education and onboarding initiatives that are intended to support your development.

Requirements

Education

Completion of a High School Certificate or an equivalent qualification is generally expected for this position.

Experience

A solid 2-3 years of practical driving experience in similar medium rigid or heavy rigid truck operation roles is considered essential for this opening.

Skills

  • Must hold a current and valid MR/HR License, coupled with a perfectly clean driving record (meaning no disqualifications within the last three years).
  • Demonstrates a genuinely customer-focused demeanor, combined with strong, clear communication abilities for all customer interactions.
