Liquid Operator
Responsibilities
- Fill gas cylinders and bundles based on the day’s plan.
- Kick off and wind down, filling tasks safely, sticking to the rules.
- Hook up cylinders and adjust valves to nail the right gas mix.
- Tackle quality tasks like labelling, batch numbering, and checking gases.
- Keep a close watch on process settings to ensure solid output.
- Sort out any snags when production numbers go off track.
- Handle empty cylinders—unload trucks, check dates, and sort them out.
- Grab full cylinders from stock for orders and load them onto trucks.
- Use forklifts to shift cylinders around the plant when needed.
- Do basic upkeep on filling gear to keep it in good shape.
- Follow safety rules, like lock-out procedures and confined space guidelines.
- Wear safety gear and turn up to meetings to hit safety goals.
- Jot down daily production logs and paperwork without errors.
- Flag incidents and keep track of what’s happening on the floor.
- Brush up on technical docs like SOPs and P&IDs to stay clued in.
Requirements
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent gets you in the door.
- A technical certificate in chemical or industrial work is a nice extra.
Experience
- A year working in a chemical plant is handy but not a must.
- No experience needed if you’re keen and good with tools.
- Sometimes using mechanical tools like wrenches in a plant setting.
Skills
- Sharp focus on details to get filling and quality checks right.
