Job Title
Café Assistant – Part-time.
Responsibilities
- Make great coffee using professional barista equipment.
- Serve cabinet food, light meals, and hot drinks with care and attention.
- Keep the café clean and welcoming throughout your shift.
- Support small events, family functions, and casual gatherings in the village.
- Handle payments and cash-up at the end of the day.
- Work alongside the kitchen and village team to keep things running smoothly.
- Check food quality and presentation before serving.
- Restock shelves and fridges as needed.
- Greet customers with warmth — residents, family, or visitors.
- Stay alert to customer feedback or any issues.
- Keep track of stock and pass on supply needs to the chef or supervisor.
- Respect privacy and be mindful of the needs of older residents.
- Support any extra requests during peak times or events.
- Stick to health and safety standards at all times.
- Keep calm and friendly, even when things get busy.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
No formal qualifications are needed, but a food safety certificate or barista training is a plus.
Experience
Prior work in a café or hospitality setting is preferred. 6–12 months experience is ideal.
