Cleaning and Laundry Assistant
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks across resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and service spaces
- Operate laundry equipment to clean, dry, and return residents’ clothing and linens
- Maintain hygiene and infection control standards across all assigned areas
- Use cleaning materials and supplies appropriately, following safety guidelines
- Communicate with care staff to coordinate cleaning around residents’ needs
- Report maintenance concerns or hazards promptly
- Assist with stock levels for cleaning supplies and laundry items
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in cleaning or laundry roles is preferred
- Understanding of infection control and hygiene practices in aged care or healthcare settings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good time management and ability to stick to cleaning schedules
Certifications
- Certificate III in Hospitality or Commercial Cleaning is an advantage
- COVID-19 vaccination and flu vaccination are strongly encouraged
- Police clearance required or willing to obtain one
